For this particular show, we used the video to project the surtitles directly onto the set, integrating and stylizing them to fit into each scene in a different way.

Do You Speak Silence?
February, 2017, Sibiu, Romania. Set, costumes, video and light design. Gianina Carbunariu built this show on her research regarding the fate of Romanian workers in Germany. It deals with a lot of concepts, including human rights, cultural differences, preconceptions, communication. We tried to speculate all of these by minimal stage means, and we came to two symbols to help us organize the spaces and give meaning to the different scenes at the same time. The first symbol was the catwalk/red carpet space, and the second one consisted of the airport boundary posts which were configured differently across the show.
